đšBlast, the new Layer 2 of Ethereum which promises an airdrop
â After raising $20 million, Blast, the new second-layer infrastructure on top of Ethereum (ETH), has announced its launch into early access and promises an airdrop to its users. We take stock of this project which has already received several tens of millions of dollars but which is not unanimous.
đšHow to be eligible for the airdrop?
Early access to Blast, a selective and exclusive process, is only accessible through a referral system.
â In this framework, the commitment of participants within the network is evaluated and rewarded. A point score is assigned to each participant, directly reflecting their level of activity and contribution to the network. This mechanism incentivizes current users to actively recruit new members, creating a referral chain reminiscent of the structures of Ponzi schemes.
â Here is how the airdrop takes place:
Phase 1: This is the launch of early access accessible only by sponsorship, and the opening of the bridge to transfer the first assets;
Phase 2: Scheduled for February 2024, this stage will mark the launch of the mainnet, allowing users to start using the network and withdraw their funds;
Phase 3: In May 2024, the airdrop will be distributed to participants.
â To be eligible for the airdrop, it is essential to transfer funds and remain active during these 3 phases, in order to accumulate as many points as possible.
â To attract developers to its network, Blast promises to divide the total airdrop into 2 equal parts: 50% for users and 50% for developers.
â This bold strategy allowed Blast to generate a lot of engagement. His X account (formerly Twitter) now has more than 70,000 followers, and more than $50 million has been transferred to the new network as of this writing.
â Blast illustrates the constant advancement of innovations aimed at improving the scalability of the Ethereum ecosystem. Although promising, this new layer nevertheless presents a weakness: its dependence on DeFi protocols which are not infallible.
