According to Foresight News, Graeme Biggar, the director of the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA), has called on Meta to reconsider its ongoing rollout of end-to-end encryption (E2EE), once again taking into account the privacy and security of online users. Meta's current plan is to enhance the security of Instagram users' private chats by introducing so-called 'zero access' encryption, where only the sender and receiver can access the content. This poses a threat to child safety.

Biggar stated, 'This is a trend, and we are not trying to stop encryption. We fully support encryption and privacy, even end-to-end encryption is absolutely no problem. We hope that the industry can find a way to still provide us with the information we need.'
