According to BlockBeats, on July 25, Jupiter's business expansion manager Slorg reported that last month saw the launch of 30 celebrity-endorsed MEME tokens on the Solana network. These tokens, promoted by figures ranging from Andrew Tate to Soulja Boy, gained significant popularity for a brief period. However, all of these celebrity tokens have since plummeted from their all-time highs, with an average decline of 94%. Even the best-performing tokens have dropped by more than 70%, with some experiencing losses exceeding 99% within just a month of their lifecycle. As of the time of writing, 22 out of these 30 celebrity MEME tokens have market capitalizations below $1 million. Despite their significant losses, some of these tokens remain 'active' due to ongoing discussions on Twitter. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin commented on the trend of celebrity-issued MEME tokens last month, expressing his dissatisfaction. He stated, 'So far, I am very unhappy with this round of celebrity experiments. Financialization is a means to an end, and if the end is worthwhile (healthcare, open-source software, art, etc.), I can respect it. But if it's just for products, (vomit emoji).'
