According to Odaily, Margrethe Vestager, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission and Competition Commissioner, has issued a warning about a 'significant bottleneck' in the supply of Nvidia's artificial intelligence (AI) chips. Vestager made these comments to the media during her trip to Singapore. She stated that the European Union's regulatory body is still contemplating whether to take action and what kind of action to take. 'We have been asking them questions, but these are just preliminary steps. So far, this cannot be considered as regulatory action,' she said.

Vestager mentioned that the AI chip supply is facing a shortage, and the secondary market could potentially stimulate innovation and fair competition. However, she pointed out that dominant companies might face certain behavioral restrictions in the future. This statement comes amid growing concerns about the availability of AI chips, which are crucial for a wide range of technologies, from autonomous vehicles to data centers.
