According to Foresight News, the Nervos Ecosystem Fund has initiated the BTCKB plan, aiming to bridge BTC and CKB, making CKB a fully isomorphic Bitcoin Layer2 based on 'PoW+UTXO'. The plan intends to empower various BTC Layer1 assets with smart contract capabilities. As part of the plan, the Nervos Ecosystem Fund announced the incubation of blockchain software company CELL Studio, founded by Nervos co-founder Cipher Wang.

CELL has launched the mobile Web3 Passkey wallet JoyID and plans to launch a two-way anchor bridge and UTXO-based DEX to connect BTC and CKB. Additionally, CELL aims to develop a CKB second-layer lightning network to connect with the BTC lightning network, enabling BTC Layer1 assets to circulate in a censorship-resistant, permissionless, and trustless manner. Leveraging CKB's enhanced UTXO model's atomicity and smart contract capabilities, CELL will promote the integration of Taproot Assets, RGB, and other Layer1 protocols. In the future, CELL will closely collaborate with the Nervos Ecosystem Fund to explore the first complete BTC Layer3 solution based on the CKB Axon chain framework, as well as UTXO-based Spore NFT protocol, Intent-based applications, and DeFi protocols. Together, they will promote various applications based on the lightning network, such as social applications derived from the Nostr protocol, micropayment scenarios, and various cross-border payment use cases.
