Sassaman was a prominent figure in the cryptography community, working on privacy-focused projects like Pretty Good Privacy (PGP).
Though there is circumstantial evidence linking him to Nakamoto, including linguistic similarities and the timing of his death in 2011âshortly after Nakamoto went silentâthere is no definitive proof.
His widow has stated she does not believe he was Nakamoto.
