EtherFi, a non-custodial liquid staking protocol, promptly responded to an attempted domain account takeover yesterday, ensuring the safety of user funds. According to Cointelegraph, the hacker initially attempted to access EtherFi's Gandi account through a phishing email. However, due to EtherFi's recently implemented security measures, this attempt was unsuccessful. The phishing email was sent pretending to be from domain name service Gandi.net. EtherFi's swift response and enhanced security protocols prevented the hacker from gaining access to user funds or sensitive information. The company emphasized that user safety remains their top priority, and they are constantly working to safeguard the platform from malicious actors.
