The familiar Hamster Kombat experience is gone in the last days before the airdrop. Here’s what you can do in the meantime.

Hamster Kombat ended its season with a snapshot of players' progress as it prepares to launch its HMSTR token and airdrop on September 26. Now, an "interlude season" has begun in the Telegram game, removing many core features. In-game coins are gone, and tapping the main screen no longer rewards players. The crypto exchange upgrades and Mine menu have also been removed as developers calculate the airdrop allocations for players.

Players can earn in-game diamonds in Hamster Kombat through various activities, such as playing both native and partnered games, inviting friends, following the game’s social media channels, and watching Hamster Kombat videos on YouTube. Additionally, a new “Mine” submenu, accessible through the Playground gaming menu, allows players to buy and upgrade startup-themed cards using diamonds. These cards, once upgraded, enable players to accumulate even more diamonds. However, the exact purpose of collecting these diamonds remains unclear at this stage. The developers have hinted at a new season of play-to-earn rewards following an initial airdrop, but for now, this appears to be a transitional phase in anticipation of future developments.

The upcoming HMSTR token, scheduled for launch on The Open Network (TON) on September 26, could be central to these future rewards. Airdrop allocations are expected to be revealed before the token launch. With over 300 million total players and around 100 million active in the last month, the sheer demand for the airdrop has raised concerns from TON developers, who warn that the influx of activity could strain the network’s capacity.
