Initial Hack:
The attacker stole $230M worth of various assets from the Indian crypto exchange WazirX on July 18, 2024.After the hack, the attacker swapped most of the stolen assets for 61,754 ETH.
Ongoing Laundering:
The attacker began transferring stolen ETH to Tornado Cash on September 3, 2024, to obscure the funds' origins.So far, the attacker has transferred a total of 39,300 ETH (worth $92.72M), which accounts for 63.6% of the stolen funds.
Current Holdings:
The attacker still holds 22,453 ETH (worth $54.46M) and is continuing to launder the funds through Tornado Cash.
The attacker is likely to keep transferring ETH to Tornado Cash in a bid to hide the remaining stolen funds.
