Announced in 2022, their partnership with the Tezos Foundation marked a serious pivot toward embracing and using Tezos to reach and reward fans.
Since then, we have seen several different collectibles available through Manchester United’s officially licensed Digital Collectibles, and as a reward for the current collection, fans who had previously acquired a Devil in their wallet earned a two-day early access to this release, rewarding fans for their continued participation and support.
As of July 31st, 2024, the collection has opened to the public and is available for purchase. For £3, fans can purchase packs containing seven Player Trading Cards, each offering a chance to collect cards of different rarities from Erik ten Hag’s senior squad, including the latest additions, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro and more! Featuring player stats that update live throughout the season, these 7,777 cards will be available in classic, rare, and ultra-rare versions featuring different color schemes based on rarity. These cards will allow people to play and compete in a new Web3 fantasy football game against other cardholders called Fantasy United.
Using a card or tez is quick and easy.
Fans can purchase card packs using a credit card or tez through a simple process. Start at the official digital collectibles website, click ‘Buy Pack’, sign in or create your account, select your preferred payment method for checkout, and finalize your order. Card packs are opened immediately after purchase using a fun reveal animation, and all purchased cards will appear in the ‘My Profile’ section (as well as in your objkt.com ‘Owned’ tab and wallet).
What is Fantasy United, and How do I play?
Fantasy United is a fantasy football game made for Manchester United fans. From your collection of Player Trading Cards, you will pick five players for each time United plays. If you have ever played fantasy sports before, this may sound familiar. Your chosen players will be scored based on their real-life performance during the game, and the squad you build earns you points. You then can see how you measure up against the competition on the leaderboard. You can also compete in mini-leagues with friends, where bragging rights are on the line.

Selecting a squad is straightforward. Clicking on Fantasy will bring up the Fantasy United website. Select the position you want the player to take, and confirm their spot. You will have up to 90 minutes before the game to swap or add players to your team. Having rare or ultra-rare players will increase your score by adding a corresponding multiplier based on rarity. You can only have one rare and ultra-rare multiplier active, so choose those players carefully.
