Argentina’s Crypto Founders Band Together To Build Blockchain Valley In Buenos Aires

Argentina's crypto community is making waves with a bold plan to create a "Blockchain Valley" in Buenos Aires 🌐. This initiative, called "Crecimiento" (Spanish for growth), aims to turn the city into a major hub for blockchain and tech startups.

Leading this charge are industry heavyweights like Diego Guitérrez, co-founder of Bitcoin Layer 2 Rootstock, Marcelo Cavazzoli, CEO and co-founder of Lemon Cash, and Elian Alvarez, general partner at Ripio Ventures. With the backing of advisors to Argentina’s libertarian president, Javier Milei, this project is set to revolutionize the local tech landscape.

Kicking off in August 2024 with a pop-up crypto city, the project will establish a two-year coworking hub for 300 people by September, complete with bootcamps and accelerators 🚀. The goal is to bring 5 to 10 million people on-chain, boost tech startups, and create a crypto-friendly regulatory environment with tax incentives and simplified business processes.

This vision is inspired by global successes like Crypto Valley in Switzerland and Dubai's Silicon Oasis. If successful, Buenos Aires could emerge as a leading destination for blockchain and crypto innovation, offering a beacon of hope amidst Argentina's economic challenges.
