SONY PREPARES TO LAUNCH CRYPTO EXCHANGE IN JAPAN🚨🚨🚨
Sony is revamping a local cryptocurrency exchange, WhaleFin, which it acquired last year, to launch a crypto exchange subsidiary in Japan. The exchange, renamed S.BLOX Co., plans to collaborate with Sony's other businesses to enhance its crypto trading services. The launch date has not been announced.
Sony has been expanding its presence in Web3, partnering with Startale Labs to build its own public blockchain network and filing a patent for "super-fungible tokens" as in-game assets.
The move marks Sony's entry into the crypto exchange market, following its acquisition of Amber Platform last August. The revamped exchange will have a new user interface and mobile app, aiming to provide easier and more valuable crypto trading services.
No further details were provided, but the launch is expected to be announced soon. Sony and Amber Group have been contacted for further comment.
