• A federal judge has dismissed part of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchange Binance and its founder Zhao Changpeng, but allowed other claims, including against holding company Binance.US, to proceed.

The SEC filed charges against #Binance , Binance. US and Zhao last summer alleging that the exchanges provided brokerage, trading and clearing services for unregistered digital asset securities in the U. S. ; the SEC also filed charges against #Coinbase , Kraken and, as of Friday morning, Consensys and similar charges against MetaMask.

In his ruling Friday, Judge Jackson wrote that the SEC made plausible allegations against most of the charges.
