1. Why do I need to verify my account on Binance Japan again?
Binance Japan was launched on 1 August 2023 and Binance Global will cease to operate in Japan starting 1 December 2023. Therefore, existing Japanese users on Binance Global will have to be migrated to Binance Japan. As part of this effort, a new verification process is required for users to conform with Japanese regulations.
2. What happens if I don’t complete identity verification on Binance Japan?
Your Binance global account became withdrawal only mode. If you complete Binance Japan verification procedure, you will be able to migrate to Binance Japan and utilize Binance Japan services.
3. Where can I verify my account on Binance Japan?
If you don’t see any prompt to start the verification process, it means you’re not required to go through it on Binance Japan.
4. What information is required for the verification?
You’ll need to provide basic information, including your legal name, date of birth, and current address. You’ll also need to submit a valid ID document and take a selfie during the verification process. It should take approximately 5 - 10 minutes to complete the application.
5. What ID can I use to verify my Binance Japan account?
- Japanese nationals: My Number Card or Driver’s License.
- Non Japanese nationals: Special Permanent Residence Certificate (特別永住者証明書) or Residence Card.
If you hold a Special Permanent Residence Certificate (特別永住者証明書), please select your ID type as “residence card” to proceed.
If you’re a foreign national and you can’t select your nationality other than Japan, please contact Binance Support for assistance.
6. If I’m holding some impermissible tokens on a Binance global account, how do I transfer the assets to Binance Japan?
You can complete the verification even if you hold assets that are not permitted under Binance Japan, as long as you consent Binance to liquidate your assets to BTC after you are verified. Please check this link for permitted assets and services provided under Binance Japan.
