I think nobody really knows. I don't think I'm an expert but I am watching the market since years...searching for key values, to make my trading bot profitable. This seems still to be a bigger task. Anyway I learned something and I want to share some #Stories from my crypto history. The curiosity behind some of them might show the insanity in the market.
So you may not expect investment tips or price estimation here, but maybe you will read something interesting. Mistakes I made. Funny points of view. Crazy stuff that happened. Or some thoughts about a project I checked.
And maybe this all will help you to make the right decisions in he right moment. Because if you see the insanity, you will automatically follow some essential rules like: -Never go all in -Always do your own research -Double check -Be careful when buying the hype -Take your profit -...
Some of them I already mentioned in my recent post about one of my biggest (streak of) mistakes.
Game state: I think mostly ready. Anyway it looks like an always developing puzzle game, where hey can put new content in easily.
NFTs: Indirect yes. So far I can say that there are items which can make a so called "NFT ready" asset to an NFT. But I did not explore that deeper yet.
About the type of handling the NFTs I can say, that this is an very gas saving approach. Usually I prefer to interact directly on chain and owning my assets directly in my wallet, but this way they provide a free to play entry, which is very good for adoption.
I think this game and specially $GALA as project is worth a look. When they started they did not have so much games and you had to play in your web browser. Now they seem to have many more content and games are available in play store.
The next one i want to share is related to Cryptomines (Eternal). It was in 2022. I just started to explore the blockchain and its posibilities. During this time I also started to explore the GameFi sector with NFTs and their usage in games #playtoearn
During my research I found this game... Cryptomines. It was about spaceships, fleets and exploring missions. BUT exploring mission is not what it sounds like. It was just a staking which returned token depending on the strength of your asset and some gamble mechanics. But the design was ok and the token was on a rallye.
My entry point was at 90USD, the token came from 1USD since the beginning of the year. I had some pull luck (invest about 20USD) and was able to sell a ship for 500USD which compensated some loss i made (some of them mentioned in my stories). With the rest i created a fleet to play the game. It was not very entertaining, but earning the eternal token was profitable. And even more when the token was on his way to 1000USD.
It worked a few weeks, but then it happened...the most punishing fall I ever saw...from almost 700USD to 1USD in a few days. And this while new investors came, who putted in a high amount of cash many others took out their profit. I didn't sell off because I already had my plus, but at 500USD I saw the end coming.
I was new on the blockchain and did not have the knowledge to check all transactions, so I don't know why it really happened. Also reliable information about the reason was hard to find. #DYOR failed 😅
But what I learned: -GameFi can work, but it requires well thought mechanics and distribution schedule. -GameFi needs a strong team and an even stronger community. -Check the token supply! How many? Who has large amount? Serious teams provide an overview of holdings and the related addresses.
I read so much news during the past months and years. Good ones and bad ones. And it seems that the only constant is: exaggeration
It feels that bad news are used to reach a certain entry point and good news to reach an exit point.
Or as rule: If you read the news, you are maybe be to late!
Here some example why I think so:
Example $XVG 2018 There was a big announcement announced. It was scheduled to release a secret partnership in a tv show. Price was climbing a few weeks about 200-300% (if i remember correctly). In the mid of april it was revealed and the price went back to reality. Why? I think totally overhyped through media plus the circumstance that most people were hoping for a payment service and not a "not-so-very-serious" video platform.
Example $XRP 2018?/2019? Elon musk showed sympathy for ripple. Then it was announced that he will talk in a tv show. The web was hyped and most people (including me in this early times) expected, that he will motivate millions of americans to invest in ripple. He didn't, as far as I know he talked seriously about the good and the bad (or risky) sides of crypto. As in previous xvg example...the price raised till the "big" day, ten it was falling again straight downwards.
Example $DOGE 2021 Some might remember. Almost same story as xrp...I didn't even follow the news and the hype...until a lucky friend told me, that he bought a high amount of doge some longer time ago. He payed less than 1 cent per doge. This was the only time I was giving something like an advice. Doge was at 60 cents in this moment and I felt that it will at last correct to 20 cents, so I told my friend the story of xrp. And I said that I think he should at least sell half ( while I mentioned thousand times that i m not an expert and that I did not make profit in crypto yet). Well, maybe I was distancing to much from giving advice, he didn't sell anything. He had to make its own experience.
What was your biggest mistake while investing in crypto? How much did it cost you? #experience
Example from my portfolio: I heard from an whitelist ICO for a shooter game. It looked very promising and the first exchange listing was scheduled short time after the ICO. I applied for the whitelist and followed all communication channels. Then the winners list was posted in Telegram and my address was listed. So I followed the steps and decided to put 500USD in it, because it was a sureshot.
But somehow I had two channels I was following. And while I was so excited, I picked the wrong one, which lead me to a fake seedify page. So my money was gone.
A few days later the token was listed and made +900% and I made -500USD, while watching the token rising. That was a black day 😅...specially because I really was whitelisted, but I didn't want to risk more money.
But I learned from it. 1. Double check might not be enough...from 100USD on double check, plus one additional for each further 100. 2. Never go all in 3. #DYOR the first: With more research about seedify I could have seen the wrong link 4. #DYOR the second: The web page was just a product of bad copy-paste. The description text was wrong. 4. #DYOR the third: The projects always provide the right contract addresses in some way...checkt it! It is long, but, CHECK IT! 5. #DYOR the fifth: While searching this project I made researches. About the team, the online presence, the token availability and the product. And the +900% showed...it was a good research coming with massive short gains.
But I was to excited and and made so much mistakes in row, that I didn't make profit with it. 🤣
Maybe this story helps someone to avoid such losses.
Stay safe in crypto space. Always DYOR & and at least double check!!!
Some words about a project, which could be interesting...specially for people who re interested in GameFi.
$DAR shows strong performance. And it is a great product, so I want to draw some attention to it. #MinesOfDalarnia is a 2D jump and run adventure like mining game. The economy is based on resources and #NFTs. It needs strategy and skills because the game comes along with a dynamic gameplay.
I joined the project in the end of 2021. For me it started with a whitelist spot for a closed beta. I celebrated this game so strong...that was my trigger to do my first invest here. Till today I am playing almost daily and I keep my invests where they are...while I completely ignore negative movements. But why?
Even with all the loss that came along with market correction and some wrong decisions I can say that it was a great experience. We (the community) worked closely together with he developers. They integrated an idea I had, for improved controller gameplay. In cases of bugs they acted fast and reliable.
Anyway there were also bad times. The land sale lottery was a desaster. The main net start was not so good. There were hackers and bots that poisoned the system. But the team was there, they acted fast. And while the project grew, they also realized the point, where they needed to increase their capacity. They onboarded new competences and were able to keep the trust of their investors.
Since a few months it feels to me, that we are continuously on the right way and the price movement seems to confirm that. The next scheduled milestones are very promissing and I am looking forward to the next years with #MinesOfDalarnia
Till today I am standing 100% behind the project. It might be worth a look, but remember #DYOR before investing. A good start might be to download the client from the official homepage (refered in the binance token info) and to play some free off chain rounds (so no gas required).
