Will CBDC save the global economy or become a Trojan horse?
And now the day has come when the word “money” no longer evokes associations with the jingling of coins or the rustling of bills. Instead, we get something called CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) - digital money from central banks. It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, but it is a reality that is already knocking on the door.

Elon Musk's $1 Billion Wikipedia Offer Remains on the Table 🤔

Elon Musk's provocative proposal to rename Wikipedia for $1 billion is still active. In a recent social media exchange, Musk reaffirmed his offer, stating it will remain valid for at least a year. This move has sparked curiosity about his intentions.

Musk initially suggested renaming the online encyclopedia to "The Muskipedia" in exchange for a $1 billion donation. While some viewed it as a lighthearted gesture, others speculated about his long-term plans.

As a nonprofit platform, Wikipedia relies on donations to sustain its operations. Musk's proposal to buy the rights to its name was met with both interest and skepticism. Despite the backlash, Musk remains committed to the idea, showcasing his unpredictable venture style.

It remains unclear whether Musk is serious about acquiring Wikipedia or simply exploring the concept. Nevertheless, his offer "still stands," leaving the door open for future developments. 📚💸

Crypto-attack on P2P in Ukraine: is the end of "digital freedom" in danger?
In a world where cryptocurrency has become commonplace, P2P transactions remain a true oasis of anonymity and freedom. But will it always be like this? And is Ukraine ready to say: "Enough of this uncontrolled monetary magic"?
---
What is P2P and why does the state look askance at it?
P2P is direct trade between people, without banks, exchanges or other "outsiders". Buying bitcoin from a neighbor? Congratulations, you are part of the P2P community. But there is one problem: the state does not get its piece of the pie. And here the questions begin: "What about taxes, citizen?", "Are you hiding your income?"

Can Ukraine become a global crypto hub?
Ukraine is a crypto hub? Hmm, sounds cool, doesn't it? Imagine: Kyiv instead of Dubai, Khreshchatyk instead of Wall Street, and instead of cash – QR codes everywhere. But is it real, or just another fantasy? Let's deal with it, as always, with irony and emotions.

The foundation is there, but is it strong?
Ukraine already has several significant advantages:

Bitcoin Taxes in Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has practically completed work on an updated bill regarding the regulation and taxation of virtual assets, reported the head of the tax committee, Daniil Getmantsev.

The document will be presented in the first quarter of 2025. The main change is the rejection of the possibility of preferential taxation of cryptocurrency transactions. The previously proposed document authored by the Ministry of Digital Transformation envisioned a preferential tax with a phased increase in rates—from 5% to 18%.

The withdrawal of assets to fiat is proposed to be taxed on profits similarly to securities.

“In consultations with European experts and the IMF, we are very cautious about the use of cryptocurrencies for tax benefits, as a potential means of tax evasion in traditional markets,” explained Getmantsev.
Before the adoption of the bill, the tax is levied on the entire amount of sold cryptocurrency based on the general taxation principles of the country.
