“Do Not Click These Links” Warning from Ethereum Developer

A security vulnerability has been detected in the email list provider used for the Ethereum Foundation blog. An email was sent to followers for a phishing attack.

Ethereum developer Tim Beiko warned his blog subscribers, "Please do not click on any links in this email."

The Ethereum Foundation may not be the only one affected by the vulnerability. An Ethereum follower said that the same email also arrived at the email address he used to register with blockchain data provider Nansen.

Ethereum Foundation solved the problem

Ethereum developer Beiko said that they contacted the SendPulse team to fix the issue.

The Ethereum Foundation then took control and sent an email informing users about the situation.

In this, “You should have received an email titled ‘Now Available: Ethereum Foundation Staking Platform’ about an hour ago. This email was not sent by us, the address we used to send these emails was hacked. "We believe that the problem is now under control," the message was given.

Email attacks are gaining momentum

None of the organizations mentioned in the incident shared details about how the problem arose. So far, no one has said they lost money because of this problem.

Attacks using fake e-mails have gained momentum recently. At the beginning of this month, CoinGecko, which works with GetResponse for its emails, experienced a similar situation due to a security vulnerability on the other side.
