They transferred the illegally obtained profits to cryptocurrency wallets and laundered them through cryptomixers.
In September 2021, local law enforcement agencies conducted a search at the address where the defendants lived. Hosner tried to detain the police to prevent the search, while Adams destroyed the pills using a chemical solution. Adams and Hosner were arrested but were soon released. A few months later, they resumed selling fentanyl on the dark web.
