Zeek, a decentralized collaboration network for on-chain social bounties and reputation, has successfully closed a $3 million seed round ahead of its official launch in July.

Investors include OKX Ventures (as part of its strategic investment in Everest Venture Group’s consumer-oriented products, which includes Zeek), Animoca Brands, Mask Network, Arche Fund, Summer Ventures, Blockchain Coinvestors, Aspen Digital, CatcherVC, PANONY, Spacebar, Hardbank, and angel investors such as Jason Kam of Folius Ventures, Ivan Li of Comma3 Ventures, and Donny Chi of WeMade.

Supporting the Zeek team is consistent with our goal of supporting innovative founders building the future of the open internet, and it is an exciting opportunity to be part of the growth of this emerging space. "We have confidence in the team's vision and ability to execute, which strengthens our resolve to help them grow," said Thanh Le, Founder of Nighty Eight.

“We see great potential in consumer-oriented initiatives like Zeek that blend real-world use cases and gamified experiences in social and gaming environments,” said Suji Yan, Founder and CEO of Mask Network.

Zeek’s decentralized collaborative economy fosters collaboration through on-chain bounties. By monetizing the idle value of social networks and personal skills, it creates new opportunities for all participants. We believe this will make disruptive technologies more accessible and enjoyable to the masses.”

In the world of Web3, users should do their own research before trusting other people, other platforms, or any information they see, but this is easier said than done. Zeek aims to solve this problem by building its on-chain reputation mechanism, recognizing users who create value through social collaboration.

Powered by the OpenSocial protocol, Zeek is a social network that allows users to unlock their own value through an on-chain social bounty mechanism called Wish and an on-chain reputation called Rizz, which includes wisdom, social networks, channels, and time across the entire cryptocurrency space.

(“Wishes” on the Discovery page)

Users create social value in the process of creating and participating in "Wishes". "Wishes" can be used for different purposes, whether it is seeking information and insights, or expanding connections and relationships. Users can then earn "Rizz" through their contributions and participation in the network, which will naturally build a social reputation layer for everyone and serve as an on-chain recognition of the social value created by users.

“Rizz” is a reflection of karma, that the more you give, the more financial rewards and measurable impact you should receive. Zeek’s products and tokens are designed to facilitate this kind of collaboration and build on-chain reputation.

With Zeek, users can check whether a person is trustworthy based on the reputation they have established, creating a completely new way to detect trust in the Web3 world.

“The future of SocialFi is about creating a new social economy by financializing existing social behaviors,” said Angus Ko, CEO of Zeek. “We built Zeek because we believe that the ultimate goal of SocialFi is the reputation layer, which builds a bridge between social influence and on-chain identity.”

Zeek is expected to launch in July, with a private beta running from now until the release date. Currently, users can pre-register through X and Discord accounts. In addition, Zeek's Tier-0 Genesis series will be launched later this month, limited to 250 pieces.
