LayerZero Foundation, the organization supporting the LayerZero cross-chain interoperability platform, has just announced an eligibility checker for the upcoming airdrop.
Platform users can check their eligibility for the airdrop, along with a summary of their activity, such as start date and total number of transactions, according to a post on X by LayerZero CEO Labs, Bryan Pellegrino. LayerZero Labs is the main developer behind this protocol.
Pellegrino said there are 1.28 million eligible wallets in total.

Last week, the LayerZero Foundation revealed the airdrop claim date in its first social media post. The post has a white background with the text “June 20, 2024,” hinting at an upcoming airdrop on that date.
Pellegrino revealed the airdrop details over the weekend, explaining that 23.8% of the total 1 billion token supply will be distributed directly to the community and developers. On the first day of distribution, 8.5% of the supply allocated to the community will be distributed, Pellegrino said.
“The remaining majority will be distributed over the next 36 months with additional retroactive distribution every 12 months, along with some request for proposals (RFP) to developers,” Pellegrino added.
In the weeks leading up to the airdrop request date, LayerZero stepped up its anti-Sybil strategy. Sybil impersonation attacks involve creating multiple fake accounts to claim a larger share of the free tokens that are being unfairly distributed.
LayerZero's anti-Sybil measures include a bounty program and a self-reporting system, which promises those who report will receive 15% of their intended tokens, while those who do not report will receive zero tokens. ZKsync, which distributed its airdrop on Monday, has faced backlash from the crypto community due to its lack of clear anti-Sybil measures.
In April 2023, LayerZero Labs, the developer behind the protocol, raised $120 million in a Series B funding round at a valuation of $3 billion.
