PANews reported on June 19 that Jameson Lopp, co-founder of Bitcoin custody company Casa, issued a reminder on the X platform that any LND node (Lightning Network node) operator before 0.17.0 should update immediately to patch a serious vulnerability.
In addition, according to information shared by X platform user @DavidShares, LND versions before 0.17.0 are vulnerable to malicious DoS attacks. Running an older version of LND puts funds at risk because the attack is easy to do. The severity is high because the attack is low-cost and simple. This serious vulnerability was discovered a year ago, in June 2023.
