Lista's decentralized stablecoin, lisUSD, is a new type of crypto asset class known as "destablecoin" for "decentralized-stablecoin".
While like other crypto-backed stablecoins, destablecoins utilize the overcollateralized model backed by crypto assets, they present some key differences:
Fully decentralized: traditional crypto-backed stablecoins such as DAI leverage on centralized crypto assets, destablecoins such as lisUSD use decentralized liquid staked assets as collateral.
Price stability without absolute peg fiat currencies: destablecoins does not aim to achieve absolute price parity with US $1 as a primary objective nor rely on fiat assets as the backed collateral.
