【News】Zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) is a cryptographic method that allows the authenticity of statements to be verified without revealing any additional information, and has become a fundamental component of many blockchains. The main applications of ZKP include identity authentication, secure voting systems, Layer 2 expansion solutions such as Zk-rollups and Zk-Plasma, and decentralized exchanges (DEX). In addition, ZKP can also enhance the security of the supply chain by verifying the supplier's credentials and the authenticity of the product without disclosing transaction information or proprietary information about the production process to unauthorized parties. However, the widespread adoption of ZKP still faces challenges, including the need for in-depth understanding of cryptographic principles and advanced mathematics to implement and deploy ZKP, the need for a large amount of computing resources to generate ZKP, and the complexity of ZKP and corresponding data storage, which may bring challenges in regulatory compliance and auditing. Nevertheless, as people's awareness of the importance of privacy and security on blockchain platforms continues to increase, the application prospects of ZKP remain broad.
