Geneva-Zurich, May 30, 2024 - Following the announcement of a strategic partnership with the DFINITY Foundation on September 26, 2023 (for details, please click: Taurus Partners with DFINITY Foundation to Add Custody Support for ICP), Taurus is pleased to announce that it has successfully integrated Internet Computer’s native token ICP and its staking capabilities into Taurus’ digital asset custody platform Taurus-PROTECT.
This is the world’s most advanced ICP integration to date, enabling financial institutions to provide their customers with appropriate access to the ICP’s native tokens.
The Internet Computer is a fully decentralized third-generation blockchain and encrypted cloud infrastructure. The ICP network consists of node providers hosted in independent data centers around the world. Since the network went online in May 2021, the Internet Computer has never experienced downtime. The total number of transactions processed per day has increased from 95 million in 2022 to 490 million in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 415%.
Taurus’ banking partners will be able to offer ICP tokens to their clients immediately, and Taurus’ product and engineering teams have built features that enable financial institutions to leverage all ICP staking mechanisms, including the most advanced ones, in a simple, streamlined manner.
DFINITY and Taurus are also pleased to announce that several Taurus partners including Bank Syz, AMINA Bank, and Capital Union Bank will be able to begin offering ICP tokens to their end customers.
