Securitize CEO calls for clearer regulations for digital assets to prevent the US falling behind Europe

According to Adili, Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, testified at a hearing of the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee Subcommittee on Digital Assets, FinTech, and Inclusion. He urged the creation of clearer regulations for digital assets and the expansion of privileges for special purpose brokers and dealers (SPBD) who handle digital assets to prevent the United States from falling behind Europe.

Domingo stated that lawmakers should provide clearer definitions of digital assets and tokenized securities to distinguish them from other digital assets. He also stressed that both public and permissionless blockchains, as well as private and permissioned blockchains, should be able to support tokenized securities. His statements highlight the need for a comprehensive regulatory framework that can adapt to the evolving landscape of digital assets and fintech
