#区块链快讯# Hong Kong virtual asset platform JPEX is suspected of violating regulations. Two victims have filed civil claims against it, seeking 240,000 Tether or HK$1.85 million. This is the first civil claim case against JPEX. Lawyer Zhu Qiaohua said that if this case is successful, it will provide an example for more victims to recover losses. He also reminded that although the criminal investigation is still ongoing, civil lawsuits have a 6-year deadline and cannot wait for the end of the criminal investigation before claiming compensation. Barrister Tasman Tam said that he would try multiple causes of action to recover losses for the plaintiff, one of which was based on the fiduciary responsibility of the JPEX Group in the incident. As of April 18 this year, the police received a total of 2,636 reports from victims in the JPEX case, involving about HK$1.6 billion, 72 people were arrested, and assets of about HK$228 million were frozen.
