Meme Coin Was Attacked, Price Crashed: The Project Will Be Restarted!

Base-based meme coin lost over 90% of its value as a result of the cyber attack.

The team of meme coin Boge (BOGE) confirmed that they were cyber-attacked in an X post they made on May 27. In the statement made by the team, it was stated that the project was exploited by attackers who exploited a vulnerability similar to the recent meme coin Normie hack.

Blockchain data revealed that on May 27, an account ending with “bAOC” initiated more than 120 transactions on Base. Each transaction resulted in approximately hundreds of thousands of BOGE being transferred to the account, with a total of 91.4 million BOGE falling into the hands of the attackers.

Immediately after receiving these 91.4 million BOGE, the attackers converted them into 4.47 Ethereum worth $16,926. According to CoinGecko data, the BOGE price lost around 95% of its value and virtually reset after the attack.

In the statement made by the team, it was stated that a snapshot of all existing investors was taken and the project will be restarted:

We have taken a snapshot of all current owners and are preparing to restart the project. Our primary focus is to ensure that each of you is well cared for during this transition. We will redistribute the total BOGE token supply to all holders for free.
