The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission recently issued a statement to remind the public to pay attention to the non-violation period of virtual asset trading platforms. This period is set in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Chapter 615) (hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance), applicable to all virtual asset trading platforms operating in Hong Kong, and will end on June 1, 2024. 📆

All virtual asset trading platforms operating in Hong Kong must obtain a license from the Securities and Futures Commission in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance, or be deemed to be a "licensed" virtual asset trading platform applicant. 💼📜

If a virtual asset trading platform is operated in Hong Kong in violation of the Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance, it will be considered a criminal offense. The Securities and Futures Commission will take all appropriate actions against any illegal acts. 🚨🚔
