Speaking at the Libertarian Party National Convention in Washington, Donald Trump promised that he would keep Senator Elizabeth Warren and her crypto-skeptic supporters "at a good distance from the crypto industry."

The former US President assured those present that he would not allow the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), while Trump’s main rival, Joe Biden, is doing everything to ensure that the crypto industry “dies slowly and painfully.” The United States must lead the way in innovation, and there can be no other way, the Republican candidate declared:

“I guarantee that the United States will create a great future for cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin. I will support the right of the country’s 50 million cryptocurrency owners to self-custody.”

According to New York-based cryptocurrency forecasting platform Polymarket, Donald Trump has a 56% chance of winning the November 2024 election, while current President Joe Biden has a 38% chance.

A few days ago, Donald Trump's campaign launched a campaign to collect donations in cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey admitted that he is involved in the work of the Trump campaign. The magazine is helping with the preparation of a draft regulation of the crypto market, which should turn into a regulatory act if the Republican candidate wins.
