According to TechFlow, prosecutors asked the court to sentence former FTX executive Ryan Salame to five to seven years in prison. He pleaded guilty in September to two counts of violating campaign finance regulations and operating an unlicensed money transmission business.

Prosecutors said Salame's crimes warranted a "severe sentence" and that he helped pump more than $100 million in illegal donations into the U.S. political system. Salame is scheduled to be sentenced on May 28 in Manhattan.
