Gunzilla Games said it is integrating the GUNZ blockchain into the OpenSea non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.
Frankfurt, Germany-based Gunzilla is working with OpenSea to develop a gaming economy that will allow players to seamlessly trade in-game items between various games built on the GUNZ blockchain.
Developed on a custom Avalanсhe subnet, GUNZ supports AAA game developers by providing players with full ownership of in-game assets (as tradable NFTs), thereby fostering player-driven economies in the digital world.
With GUNZ integrated into OpenSea, players and users of the market will be able to access a compliant and transparent platform to trade in-game NFT items. This move bridges the gap between traditional Web2 games and the emerging Web3 gaming ecosystem, providing players with a unified marketplace to trade assets from any game built on the GUNZ platform. The only payment method within the ecosystem will be the “GUN” token.
The first project to launch on GUNZ is Gunzilla Games’ cyberpunk-inspired battle royale game Off The Grid, which is scheduled to be released on PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox X|S later this year and will showcase the potential of this partnership.
“Our vision has always been to give players true ownership of their in-game assets and change the way value is created and exchanged in the digital world, and with the support of OpenSea, we are one step closer to achieving a unified, player-driven economy for all games developed on the GUNZ blockchain,” said Vlad Korolov, CEO of Gunzilla Games, in a statement.
Previously, Gunzilla Games raised $30 million in funding, including a $10 million strategic token financing co-led by CoinFund and Avalanche Foundation’s Blizzard Fund.
“The integration of GUNZ into OpenSea is an important moment in this effort, bringing the much-anticipated Off the Grid to our marketplace and adding elements that console and PC players haven’t yet had to experience,” OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer said in a statement.
