This happened 15 years, four months and four days after Bitcoin (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block of the network on January 3, 2009.

This means that over the 5,603 days of Bitcoin's existence, there have been an average of 178,475 transactions per day.

However, this number does not include transactions made on the Lightning Network, Bitcoin's second-layer network focused primarily on micropayments.

Since the network halved for the fourth time on April 20, daily Bitcoin transactions have skyrocketed, including a record 926,000 transactions on April 23. $BTC #bitcoin
