According to Railgun researcher and advocate Alan Scott Jr., U.S. senators and intelligence agencies may not be as opposed to privacy-centric encryption protocols as some industry insiders believe. Scott said in an interview at ETH Global in Sydney on May 2 that based on his conversations with senators and the FBI in Washington, D.C., he has not seen any signs of action on Capitol Hill against privacy encryption projects. He said that there are many people in the upper echelons of the government who "generally understand things, want to do the right thing, and want to protect people." (Cointelegraph)
