NEAR Protocol (NEAR) has demonstrated excellent user retention in Layer1 over the past year, with the blockchain’s primary adoption rate at 9.53%, according to data provider Artemis. This figure is much higher than its main competitors, such as Avalanche (AVAX) and BNB Chain, which have only 8.19% and less than 7% user return rates respectively.
In comparison, market leaders Ethereum (ETH) and Tron (TRX) both failed to reach 5% user retention over the past 12 months. Currently, the cumulative TVL of 19 DeFi applications active on NEAR Protocol has reached US$306 million, among which Burrow, LiNEAR Protocol and Meta Pool Near have outstanding performance in the fields of decentralized lending and liquidity staking.
NEAR was one of the best-performing major cryptocurrencies over the past week, ranking fifth among all top 100 coins, with a 26% value increase in seven days, according to CoinGecko. NEAR’s growth is primarily due to its potential integration in the field of artificial intelligence, which lays the foundation for NEAR Protocol’s application in this emerging field.
