Tether’s USDt has officially landed on TON, offering Telegram's massive user base of 900 million users instant, free, and hassle-free cross-border payment capabilities. This groundbreaking integration, announced at Token2049 in Dubai, marks a pivotal collaboration between Telegram’s Founder & CEO, Pavel Durov, Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, and The Open Platform’s CEO, Andrew Rogozov, under the auspices of the TON Foundation.
With USDt on TON, users can expect stability, as it's pegged 1-to-1 with USD and backed entirely by Tether’s reserves. This stability makes it ideal for daily transactions and cross-border payments. Moreover, the integration boasts fully integrated on-ramps from various fiat currencies globally, with plans for integrated global off-ramps for easy withdrawals to bank accounts or cards.
To incentivize adoption and usage, the TON Foundation is offering a total of 11 million $TON in incentives. These incentives include boosted rewards in USDt/TON liquidity pools across TON DEXes, rewards for users depositing USDt to wallet’s Earn campaign, and free withdrawals to TON from supporting exchanges like tier-1 exchange until June 2024.
