PANews reported on April 11 that according to CoinDesk, Binance Chief Compliance Officer Noah Perlman said at a cybersecurity conference hosted by Chainalysis that Binance is doing its best to work with the Nigerian government to ensure the release of Tigran Gambaryan, the imprisoned head of financial crime investigations. He said Gambrayan came to the country at the invitation of the Nigerian government. Perlman is "optimistic" that Binance has reached a solution with the Nigerian government to release Gambrayan, but declined to disclose specific details. Earlier this week, Gambaryan pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering, tax evasion and manipulating the price of the Nigerian currency.
