Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's leading chipmaker, has agreed to produce its most advanced products in the US state of Arizona from 2028.

According to the plan, TSMC will build a total of 3 chip manufacturing plants (fab) in Arizona. The first factory is expected to go into operation in 2025, using 4nm technology. Two other factories are built in 2028 and 2030 respectively with 3nm and even 2nm production technology - the most advanced chip type today.

The total investment value of the project is up to 65 billion USD, of which the US government will support 6.6 billion USD through subsidies and preferential loans.

This is a positive sign for the White House's efforts to reduce reliance on the chip supply chain from Asian suppliers, especially amid rising geopolitical tensions with China.

The appearance of TSMC is expected to create many new jobs in the high-tech field, promoting economic development for the United States. However, experts also note that it takes time to monitor the real impact of this agreement.
