Thai regulator the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has changed its rules to allow institutional investors and high net worth individuals to invest in private funds that have exposure to US spot bitcoin ETFs. Although it did not previously cover digital asset ETFs, the decision followed approval from the US SEC. However, retail investors cannot access these funds. The secretary general of the Thai SEC highlighted the high risk and suggested that investors treat Bitcoin as digital property rather than currency.
