The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has partnered with blockchain-based financial platform Gluwa Nigeria to promote the usage of the eNaira central bank digital currency (CBDC). Gluwa will integrate its Credal technology into the eNaira platform, enabling the creation of "credit reputations" for unbanked users and furthering financial inclusion. The credit profiles will be "accessible across borders" and increase the CBDC's effectiveness. This partnership is the latest of many attempts by the CBN to boost eNaira usage, which has seen low adoption rates since its launch in October 2021.
