According to the latest updates on LinkedIn, one of the four major accounting firms in the Big Four - mainly involved in auditing, consulting, financial advisory, risk consulting, tax and legal services - Deloitte is actively looking for individuals with cryptocurrency expertise to join their team.
A search of cryptocurrency job opportunities in the United States on LinkedIn shows that there are currently more than 300 open positions at Deloitte, and almost all were posted just last week. However, a similar search for cryptocurrency-related job opportunities at three other “Big Four” accounting firms, namely Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, turned up no results. Which result is displayed?
Deloitte has several cryptocurrency-related job roles, such as Blockchain and Digital Asset Management, with openings in 97 different locations across the United States. Other positions include Tax Manager, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency, hiring in 18 US locations, and Tax Manager, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency in NFTs, hiring in three US locations.
Blockchain & Digital Assets manager responsibilities include providing various services such as financial statement audits, internal controls specific to blockchain and digital assets, audit readiness for digital asset and blockchain transactions, IPO readiness and reporting services to the SEC, SPAC transactions, and review of advisory services for digital asset transactions.
Candidates for the Tax Manager position will manage teams that provide tax compliance and consulting services to a variety of clients, including those in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries . Their responsibilities include guiding clients in structuring legal entities and analyzing tokens and transactions, among others.
This comes as there are signs of Deloitte's continued support and interest in Web3 and cryptocurrency. At the end of February, Deloitte announced a partnership with Vatom - a Web3 platform, to provide immersive experiences for various industries.
This partnership offers various opportunities for companies looking to enhance culture using virtual reality, as well as for brands looking to improve community connection. Circle reportedly hired Deloitte to audit its proof-of-reserves in January.
As of now, LinkedIn has received applications from many locations for various job positions, with a total of more than 1,000. There are a number of cross-listings on Deloitte's website and it is currently unclear whether these positions the firm seeks to fill were previously announced.
