What development does Fantom focus on in 2023?
Developing on Fantom will become even more attractive this year. What is the FantomFDN dev team doing to solve the "user access barrier" for developers? Focus on the following upgrades:
Account Abstraction (AA)
Smart Wallets
Gas cost support (Gas Subsidies)
A simple series of explanations about these
Fantom will focus on adding Account Abstraction to the BASE CLASS
A simpler user interface will make decentralized applications more accessible to ordinary users.
A main feature of AA is allowing the wallet to be accessed (connect or sign in) using traditional methods: authentication with social network channel information (username + password), FaceID...
It doesn't stop there, better user experience (UX) also includes:
Pay fees with assets other than #FTM
Multiple transactions at the same time
Recover account
Spending limits
How to do this? The wallet will be a *Smart Contract* controlled through old-fashioned private key wallets = Smart Wallets
Smart contracts are potentially more powerful than traditional wallets.
For example, make transactions without the initial gas token
Swap USDC to FTM > Make a trade > Pay FTM gas fees
It's all just a single contract transaction
No need for FTM in wallet
New users don't need to think about gas
Does this help developers attract new users?
Imagine: your neighbor creates the first NFT for free > connects a Smart Wallet via social login > trades free, gas-free NFT creation > holds full ownership > enjoy enjoy real ownership > tell your friends
