SEC Delays Decision on BlackRock's Ethereum ETF
The SEC has delayed a decision on BlackRock's proposed Ethereum spot ETF until March, according to newly published filings. "The Committee finds it necessary to allow additional time to thoroughly consider the proposal and related issues," reads the quote from Wednesday's filing.
The SEC now has until March 10 to approve, disapprove or initiate additional proceedings against this ETF.
BlackRock applied to establish an Ethereum ETF called the iShares Ethereum Trust in November. Fidelity's proposal for the Fidelity Ethereum Fund was also delayed according to filings published last week.
Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analyst James Seyffart believes the delay in Ethereum ETF proposals will likely continue in the coming months.
