North Korean hackers attacked more crypto platforms in 2023 than ever before, although the total amount of funds stolen was less than in 2022, Chainalysis reports. More than $1 billion in cryptocurrency was stolen in 2023, with approximately $428.8 million of that stolen from decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. The total amount of stolen funds fell by 54.3% to $1.7 billion, despite an increase in the number of hacking incidents from 219 in 2022 to 231 in 2023.
