Starting March 7th! Celestia Airdrop Incentive Program

Say it first

Orange Cat believes that the period of batch interactive airdrops is over!

#buildtogether #Build #Binance #dyor

After experiencing the Aptos airdrop, Lens protocol, Blur and ironfish, Orange Cat clearly feels that the market has changed, and the entry of many studios and scientists has changed the landscape. The project team no longer wants to airdrop money to Lumao teams and studios, but rather wants to distribute it to real users, loyal users or teams with promotion capabilities.

The future pattern of Orange Cat Labs should be to focus on research and focus on FOMO. 1-2 projects per month is enough, and then we devote ourselves to these focused projects. We have been doing this, so we won Aptos, Lens, and Ironfish.

Investment research pays more attention to the project’s financing situation, team situation, and its own market recognition. Then judge the possibility of airdrop based on experience.

We need to explore new ways in the future! Let’s Alpha together!

Closer to home, Celestia is the project that Orange Cat has always been optimistic about.

One of Celestia’s investment institutions is BinanceLabs

Orange Cat introduced Celestia in the first quarter of 2022, and Orange Cat very much recognizes the modular blockchain track.

What does Celestia do?

Celestia uses modularity to solve the efficiency and development-friendly problems of current blockchains!

Celestia has a parallel relationship with our well-known rollups (Arbitium, Optimism).

The difference between Rollups and Celestia is that Rollups focuses on execution (no settlement, consensus and data availability layer) and Celestia focuses on consensus and data availability (no execution and settlement).

Celestia architecture comparison

Celestia’s modular architecture decouples the blockchain into data, consensus and execution. The execution layer is on top of the blockchain, and then Celestia focuses on building the data availability layer, receiving the transactions packaged from rollup, and actively sorting the transactions through the consensus protocol Tendermint, so that the history of all transactions is stored in Celestia's blocks. .

The advantages that Celestia brings are:

1. On the basis of completing the execution layer, dApp developers can also enjoy more complete security and scalability. Rollups on Celestia are essentially blockchains with their own sovereignty, and for the first time, rollups have been forked. capabilities without worrying about compromised security.

2. Nodes are free to perform transactions related to their dapp, and everyone is not required to perform all transactions. For example, game nodes do not have to perform DeFi-related transactions.

3. Let the node verify a block with a very small sample. At the same time, low-level hardware devices can be used as nodes, such as home computers and mobile phones.

4. Extremely scalable. Its availability rules are automatically executed by light nodes with limited resources and completed through Data Availability Sampling (DAS). That is to say, light nodes only need to download and verify block headers.

Blockspace Race testnet plan

Celestia starts Blockspace Race, Celestia’s incentivized testnet program, on March 7, 2023

Blockspace Race is the largest testnet ever to support data availability sampling, with over 700 sampled light nodes.

Celestia is allocating 15,000,000.00 TIA tokens as rewards to participants of the Blockspace competition. Points earned during the event will be converted into TIA tokens after the event ends.

Please note that once the Celestia mainnet launches, you will be able to earn points by participating in and completing the incentivized testnet program.

consensus participant

100 verification nodes

Data Availability Participants

740 light nodes

50 bridge nodes

50 full storage nodes

Orange Cat thinks it doesn’t matter if you don’t get selected. I think Celestia will continue to reward loyal developers. Choose 1,000 out of 20,000, and only the currently selected users will enter the incentive test network. Those not selected can also be tested but there is no incentive.

How to build

The following is the official construction tutorial, translated by Orange Cat.

Overview of running nodes on Celestia

Celestia currently has two existing testnets to participate in:

  • Arabica devnet: A devnet focused on developers who want to deploy sovereign rollups on the latest changes to the Celestia codebase. Arabica is updated frequently and may sometimes become unstable with new updates. Validators will not be able to validate on Arabica as it is not designed for validator participation.

  • Mocha Testnet: A testnet focused on enabling validators to test their infrastructure by running nodes connected to the network. Developers can also deploy sovereign rollups on Mocha, which has always lagged behind Arabica because Mocha upgrades are slower because they need to be completed via hard forks in coordination with the validator community on Mocha.

This tutorial assumes you are working in a Linux environment.

Hardware requirements

The recommended minimum hardware requirements for running light nodes are as follows:

  • Memory: 2 GB RAM

  • CPU: single core

  • Disk: 5 GB SSD storage

  • Bandwidth: 56 Kbps download/56 Kbps upload

-Set up the system

-Choose the node you want to build

-Install Golang

-Build celestia node

-Check for BUGs

-Submit tasks on knack

Due to limited space, I will not introduce them one by one. Any content can be communicated at any time#eth#Atom #defi
