Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has refuted allegations of centralization surrounding Cardano’s governance structure. Vanessa Harris, who calls herself a “Web3 advisor” on Twitter, claims that Cardano development company IOG will never lose control of the network under the current structural setup.
Harris specifically cited CIP-1694 (Cardano Improvement Proposal) as evidence that the IOG and other entities will maintain control of the Cardano network in all but the most extreme circumstances.
In response, Hoskinson refuted the claims as “absolutely false” and accused Harris of spreading FUD. In a conversation on Twitter Spaces, Hoskinson acknowledged that governance is “a complicated thing.”
In Harris’ controversial post, she raised concerns about the power of the Constitutional Committee, which she claimed actually belonged to IOG and that regular ADA users could not participate in governance without becoming DRep, which received mixed reactions from the crypto community. (U.Today)
