According to ChainCatcher, the number of initial unemployment claims in the United States increased by 3,000 to 221,000 in the week ending November 2, in line with market expectations. The number of continuing unemployment claims rose to 1.892 million, the highest level since November 2021.

Initial jobless claims fell as the impact of the hurricane faded. Boeing reached an agreement to end the strike, and the impact on the job market is expected to be weakened. California, Michigan and Ohio saw the largest increases, while Florida and Georgia saw declines.
