According to TechFlow, on October 29, CoinDesk reported that while traditional financial institutions in Hong Kong were reducing their office space, Web3 giant Animoca Brands chose to expand. The company's new headquarters covers an area of 28,000 square feet (about 2,601 square meters), nearly four times larger than before, and the new office area is located in the emerging technology park in the southern part of Hong Kong Island.
Animoca Brands President Evan Auyang said that Hong Kong is currently in a tenant market, and the company will take this opportunity to create collaborative spaces that will not only serve itself but also support the development of its portfolio companies. Although the company experienced layoffs in 2023 and reduced the target size of the Metaverse Fund from US$2 billion to US$800 million, management remains confident in Hong Kong's prospects.
