According to Odaily Planet Daily, monitoring by Arkham indicates that a wallet controlled by the U.S. government has reportedly been hacked, containing funds seized from the 2016 Bitfinex hack, which has now led to a loss of $20 million for that address.
The attacker sent the funds to a wallet starting with '0x348', which includes USDC, USDT, aUSDC, and ETH. The hacker has begun converting stablecoins to ETH and laundering the money through addresses possibly related to money laundering services.
According to previous reports, the U.S. government address (Bitfinex hacker seized funds) withdrew $6.57 million worth of stablecoins from Aave early this morning. The funds were transferred to an address starting with '0x348', which then exchanged approximately 5.45 million USDC for 2135.27 ETH.
