According to Cointelegraph, Meta recently demonstrated a new technology called "Hyperscape", which stitches photos into 3D environments through a real-time rendering system, which may revolutionize remote work and remote presence.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the company's new "Orion" smart glasses at the "Connect" conference on September 25, which can seamlessly integrate digital information into the physical world seen by users.

While the Orion glasses have attracted most of the attention, the Hyperscape demo is perhaps the most exciting update to VR and Web3. Hyperscape allows an area to be scanned via a phone’s camera and converts the image into a real-time rendered digital environment.

Currently, the Hyperscape demo is open to the public, but is limited to accessing a few pre-rendered spaces. Future versions could allow any observable environment to be rendered in real time in the Metaverse, making virtual meetings more immersive and interactive.

A decentralized version could potentially allow geographically dispersed people to verify reality in real time via the metaverse, which would be more immersive and socially binding than relying on pre-recorded videos.
