According to PANews, U.S. Senator Tim Scott criticized SEC Chairman Gary Gensler for postponing the Senate Banking Committee hearing. Scott said Gensler's regulatory agenda is detrimental to the U.S. economy, increasing corporate burdens, reducing capital access opportunities, and undermining the interests of retired savers.
Republican lawmakers have proposed the (Empowering America's Main Street Act) to require the SEC chairman to testify to Congress twice a year to increase transparency and accountability.
